Bars to Close Early to Help Police Crackdown

More than 300 bar owners in the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo have agreed to close early to help federal authorities crack down on crime and violence, city officials said.
The bars will voluntarily close at midnight for a month, starting Thursday, said Mayor Daniel Pena. He said the move was suggested by the federal government.
