North Korean officials visited South Korea’s parliament for the first time in a symbolic gesture of reconciliation with their democratic rivals.

The visit to the National Assembly came on the last of three days of joint celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean peninsula’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule.

The North Korean delegation also visited former South Korean President Kim Dae Jung, who was in a hospital because of pneumonia.
