Street pedalers in Zhengzhou
MARILYN ROSE BROWN of Pasadena found it tough to get candid shots when she was in Zhengzhou in central China. “They’d stare and sometimes form a circle around you,” she said, “but if you took your camera out, they’d disappear.” On the last day of her March 2003 visit, it rained, so no one was paying attention. That’s when she got this striking image. She took it with her 35mm Olympus camera using monochrome film.
