Steve Ramsey, 52; Former Station Manager at KTLA-TV

Steve Ramsey, 52, general manager of WSMV-TV Channel 4 in Nashville and former station manager at KTLA-TV Channel 5 in Los Angeles, died Monday of complications from an appendectomy, according to WSMV.

Ramsey arrived in Nashville three years ago from Tribune Broadcasting, where he had been the company’s vice president of news operations. He was station manager at Tribune-owned KTLA from late 1999 to mid-2001. Tribune Co. also owns The Times.

Ramsey held various other TV news positions, including at Chicago’s WGN-TV Channel 9 and WESH-TV Channel 2 in Orlando, Fla.

He was born in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
