The Chile dream that came true

I have followed Dan Neil’s articles for a few months now and I appreciate his style and love of cars. I was floored this morning to find out he recently completed my dream odyssey -- a trip through Chile [“Adventure, Due South,” Nov. 27].

I lived in southern Chile for two years in the early ‘90s and have an older brother who lived in northern Chile in the early ‘80s. We’ve always talked about doing some crazy trip (two other brothers lived in Equador and Bolivia) as a group. Although we couldn’t afford a trip like yours, I enjoyed reading about the places you stayed and visited.
