Misguided commentary

Re “Separation of sex and state,”

Carol Platt Liebau writes: “In a nation founded on religious principles.” No, no, no! Our country was founded on a secular vision of democracy.

Nowhere is God, the Bible, the Torah or the Koran cited in our Constitution. How can someone such as Liebau, an attorney and apparent political analyst, not understand this? Why does The Times provide a forum for such misguided commentary? We have enough misunderstanding about the nature of our democracy and Constitution without The Times adding to it.
