* Del Taco Inc., the nation’s No. 2 Mexican quick-serve restaurant chain, said it hired Tustin-based Brainsaw as its advertising agency. Brainsaw will develop commercials for the Lake Forest-based chain, which operates more than 450 restaurants in 11 states.

* Ashworth Inc., a Carlsbad, Calif.-based golf sportswear company, swung to a $2.2-million loss on a 15% rise in revenue in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31. The net loss was 16 cents a share, contrasted with net income of $1.9 million, or 14 cents a share, a year earlier. The company said profit was hurt by slower sales of full-margin goods. Revenue rose to $55.3 million from $48.3 million.
