Also Tuesday, a wealthy Turkish businessman who was released by kidnappers in Iraq arrived safely in Ankara.

Kahraman Sadikoglu, president of the Istanbul-based Tuzla Shipyard, was released late Monday after two months of captivity. He was flown to Istanbul via Jordan and Baghdad after spending the evening at a British base in southern Iraq, a Foreign Ministry official said.

“My health is very good,” a smiling Sadikoglu told reporters at the airport in Ankara, the Turkish capital.

Sadikoglu said he had been released because his kidnappers realized he was innocent.
