Pakistan Rape Case
Re “Pakistan to Retry Five in Gang Rape,” June 29: Real justice for Mukhtaran Mai lies in having her assailants subjected to “exemplary punishment,” including the tribal council that issued the rape order. Sadly, such justice will continue to elude the likes of Mai as long as Talibanesque “leaders” run the show: witness President Musharraf’s effort to gag the victim.
