Militant Attacks Kill 2 Policemen

Militants blew up power transformers to black out the southern Thai city of Yala and then attacked with homemade firebombs and guns, killing two policemen and injuring 22 other people.
Three attackers suspected of being Muslim insurgents were arrested, but others escaped.
The attacks were the latest in almost-daily violence in the region, where majority Muslims complain of discrimination. The rest of Thailand is overwhelmingly Buddhist.
