8 Killed in Oil Platform Blaze; 45 Are Missing

Fire destroyed a platform in India’s biggest oil field, killing at least eight people and leaving 45 missing, according to the Petroleum Ministry and media reports.
Navy and coast guard ships evacuated at least 335 people from the platform, 100 miles off Bombay, before the fire was brought under control, a Petroleum Ministry spokesman said.
