From Times Wire Reports

Myanmar accused a U.S.-based dissident of being behind a May 7 string of bombings in the capital that killed at least 19 people and wounded more than 160.

Aung Din of the Washington-based U.S. Campaign for Burma denied the accusation, calling it a “smear campaign.”

Leaflets accusing Aung Din have been posted at police stations and other public offices. He said by phone that he had not been in Myanmar since 1995.
