Fugitive Held in Officer’s Death
A man who allegedly killed a Denver police officer in May, leading to a manhunt that spread to Los Angeles, has been arrested in Mexico, Denver police said Saturday.
Raul Garcia-Gomez, 20, is suspected of shooting and killing Det. Donnie Young and wounding Det. Jack Bishop on May 8 after the officers -- who were moonlighting as security guards -- barred the man from a private party.
Denver police and the Los Angeles Police Department had searched for Garcia-Gomez in the L.A. area after his car was found south of the city limits.
