Land Mine Kills Dozens on Bus Crossing Bridge

A land mine hurled a bus into the air and tore it apart as it crossed a wooden bridge in southern Nepal, killing 38 passengers and wounding 71, officials said.
The bus was attacked near the village of Badarmude in an area that many believed to be relatively safe.
Army officials said they suspected that a communist rebel detonated the mine. The rebels had not commented.
