An 80-year-old reputed Klansman will stand trial as scheduled in the 1964 murders of three civil rights workers despite injuries that are causing him discomfort, a judge ruled in Philadelphia.

Circuit Judge Marcus Gordon said Edgar Ray Killen’s trial would start Monday. But he said he would allow some accommodations for Killen, who has osteoarthritis and broke his legs March 10 while cutting a tree.
