Classmates hit the road again

The three college grads who made the TV documentary “Roadtrip Nation” three years ago to find out what they should do with their lives appear to have an answer.
Former Pepperdine students Mike Marriner, Brian McAllister and Nathan Gebhard now run a “Roadtrip” empire from new digs in Laguna Beach. In addition to the documentary series on PBS, they have initiated a grass-roots movement on 100 college campuses nationwide, written two books, created an interactive website, a weekly satellite radio show, partnerships with Starbucks and J. Crew, and sponsorships from State Farm Insurance and Microsoft.
Their new 12-part series features teams of teams of students crossing the country in neon green RVs to interview leaders who defined their own life paths. It will air on KCET at 9:30 p.m. Friday, repeating at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
