It All Adds Up

Re “Caltech to Harvard: Redo the Math,” June 20: Your article quotes Harvard President Lawrence Summers as saying there was “evidence in taste differences” between girls and boys with respect to science and engineering. The article also states Caltech updated its curriculum to appeal more to female students. It appears Caltech offers a proof of Summers’ theorem.
