Barnes’ move is challenged

Amid the legal wrangling surrounding the decision to allow the Barnes Foundation to move its art collection from suburban Philadelphia to the center of the city, the Pennsylvania Superior Court has agreed to hear an appeal challenging a lower court’s decision.
Jay Raymond, a current student and former teacher at the Barnes, filed an appeal in January objecting to the denial of legal standing to Barnes students when the case was decided by the Montgomery County Orphans’ Court. Raymond claimed that the students were unfairly prohibited from presenting their argument against the relocation. On Tuesday, the Superior Court agreed to let the appeal go forward.
