Convicted Murderer Executed by Injection

A man convicted in the mutilation and slaying of his girlfriend and the fatal shooting of the couple’s 11-month-old daughter in 1991 was executed in McAlester.
Jimmie Ray Slaughter, 57, was pronounced dead by lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. He maintained his innocence in his final statement.
“It was a lie from the beginning. God knows it’s true, my children who were with me know it’s true, and you people will know it’s true someday. May God have mercy on your souls,” Slaughter said.
