Rebels Blame Military for Journalist’s Death
From Times Wire Reports
Tamil Tiger rebels have blamed the military for the killing of a prominent ethnic Tamil journalist who the rebels say exposed government duplicity in Sri Lanka’s faltering peace process. The military denied the charge.
Dharmeratnam Sivaram, 46, a columnist for the country’s Daily Mirror newspaper and board member of the pro-rebel TamilNet website, was abducted by four unidentified men late Thursday. His body was found Friday with gunshot wounds to the head.
