O’Brien unscathed

I can’t believe that Pat O’Brien is going to end up having a career boost from that pathetic and sleazy phone message [“Quick Takes,” April 30]. That he isn’t even embarrassed to show his face is amazing. And the fact that he returns to a job? I can’t imagine the ordinary working stiff being offered their job back in the same situation.

The FCC was so up in arms about Janet Jackson’s bare breast on a family show (yes, ill advised and a poor decision) that they have spawned a version of a witch hunt (Howard Stern) and dangerous treading on the 1st amendment. Yet not a peep from them about creepy Pat O’Brien? It just smacks of a foundation of American Taliban overtones where a group in power picks and chooses what we should all be upset about.
