Hard to imagine any duller ‘Sex’

Julien Hernandez’s “Sex, Politics & Cocktails” gives all three a bad name. Hernandez plays a 31-year-old Cuban American wannabe filmmaker who comes to L.A. to break into the industry -- now there’s an original premise -- and talks his way into a gig making a documentary on gay relationships -- even though he doesn’t know any gay people. So he looks up his one L.A. pal (Marisa Petroro), a soap opera star with a gay following who introduces him to a group of the most boring, unamusing and off-putting gay men -- not one of them a convincingly real person -- in the entire city. Utterly inept.
