More machine than man: The making of Darth Vader

Spoiler alert: “Revenge of the Sith,” the final installment in the six-part “Star Wars” saga, answers the question posed by the original movie more than a quarter century ago: Why does Darth Vader wear the suit? Based on information from official “Star Wars” books, magazines and websites, here’s a look at the injuries and surgery that transformed Anakin Skywalker into a well-known villain.
