Patches Are a Means to Give Microsoft Money

Share

Regarding “Microsoft’s Pay Service to Target Spyware,” (May 13):

You’ve got to hand it to those creative Microsoft Corp. geniuses -- they make a product, get 98% of the world’s PC users hooked on the product and platform, but make sure the product has lots of “minor but fixable” problems, then continue to send users scurrying to the Windows Updates to download patches and fixes, most of which patch and fix the previous set of patches and fixes.

As this corporate logic goes, they never get around to fixing the root of the problem. Instead, they come up with another software product and/or service that they can sell to supposedly fix the problem that came with the original operating system or software.
