She can tell someone gets it, emotionally

It’s so nice to finally read a “Tell” column [“Floored Again by the Old Elevator Pitch,” May 19] with some emotional truth behind it. Too often the column feels as if it was dashed off by some wannabe sitcom writer who wouldn’t know an honest emotion if he tripped over it, but who nonetheless feels compelled to complain publicly about how he tries and tries to find love in this unfeeling city but can’t seem to meet anyone worthy.

Laura Galloway, however, gets it. To use her words, it’s the difference between aspirational and actual.
