Corinthian Colleges Unit in Florida Subpoenaed

Corinthian Colleges Inc. said subsidiary Florida Metropolitan University received a subpoena from the Florida attorney general inquiring into its advertising and marketing practices.

The subpoena, received Thursday, requests documents from the last five years relating to the Florida unit’s training of admissions representatives, their names and pay, the names of school directors, complaints against the school and litigation, the Santa Ana company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Corinthian shares fell 43 cents, or 3.5%, to $11.95.
