Ex-President Fujimori Cleared in One Case
Peru’s Supreme Court cleared former President Alberto Fujimori of corruption in a defense contracts scandal, one of 21 criminal cases against him.
A court spokesman said there was not enough evidence to show that Fujimori, who fled to Japan after his 1990-2000 government collapsed, had favored Panama-based company Mobetec with contracts for helicopters and jeeps in 1993.
