* Hurricane Rita cost farmers at least $195 million in crop and livestock losses, pushing the total for that storm and Hurricane Katrina past $1 billion, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. The estimates don’t include losses such as those from buildings and machinery.

* Delta Air Lines Inc., which was pushed into bankruptcy protection partly by competition on U.S. flights, said it planned to add 10 routes to Europe next year to become the world’s biggest transatlantic carrier.
