Ford May Post First Loss in Almost 2 Years

Ford Motor Co. may report its first loss in almost two years today because of a drop in sales of profitable sport utility vehicles.
Ford is likely to say it lost 9 cents a share in the third quarter, according to the average estimate of analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial.
For the third quarter, analysts have had to forecast profit without guidance from the company. Estimates range from a loss of 24 cents a share to a 10-cent profit.
Ford shares were unchanged at $8.47.
