Clash Leaves 5 Dead, More Than 100 Injured

A fierce clash between residents and police in eastern Bangladesh killed at least five people and injured more than 100, including at least 30 police, an official and witnesses said.
Police opened fire after the residents attacked a police station at Companiganj in Noakhali district to protest authorities’ slow response to a jewelry robbery, local administrator Mohammad Jafar Alam said.
