Colombian Pleads Not Guilty in Drug Case

An accused leader of one of Colombia’s most powerful cocaine trafficking organizations pleaded not guilty to racketeering and drug charges in federal court in Washington.
Jairo “Don Pedro” Aparicio-Lenis entered the plea after being extradited from Colombia and arriving in Florida late Thursday.
He is an alleged leader of the Norte del Valle cartel, which U.S. officials say has smuggled more than $10 billion worth of cocaine into the United States since 1990.
