Can’t do the time?

I think Paul Scheuring and your overwrought reporter, Maria Elena Fernandez, need to get over themselves [“Inside, Looking Out,” Aug. 28]. I’ve shot in Joliet, and while it’s grim, I didn’t feel chilled to the marrow. I recall noticing the mallards on the lakes as we flew in and how the frost on the grassland glinted in the early morning sun. But I must lack a sensitive soul, as I breezed by “a lot of horror in that place.” However, my under-wire bra did set off the metal detector.

As a TV producer, I’ve been to a lot of unsavory places, and most I’ve been glad to leave behind. But Scheuring seems to be milking his fleeting moments in Joliet for a lot of drama. Let’s hope it shows up in his show.
