Three Teenage Girls Held in Deadly Fire
From Times Wire Reports
French police detained three teenage girls after a suspected arson fire killed at least 14 people in a high-rise apartment building near Paris.
Authorities said the fire was probably started deliberately in a mailbox in the hallway of the building during the night, sources close to the inquiry said.
“They are criminal acts and will be punished as such,” Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy told TF1 television.
Fire officials said the death toll was likely to rise.
