Intel Acquires Stake in Czech Software Firm

Intel Corp. and private equity firm Enterprise Investors have acquired a majority stake in Czech anti-virus software developer Grisoft for $52 million to help it expand and possibly go public, they said.

Intel Capital, the venture investment arm of the Santa Clara, Calif., chip maker, and Enterprise Investors took a 65% stake in Grisoft in the biggest foreign investment in the Czech technology sector in years.

Intel put up $16 million and Enterprise paid the rest.
