Emergency services official is a disaster
Never have I been more afraid than after reading the Q&A; with Henry Renteria, director of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Sept. 12). He must be planning to run for office with his political-babble answers to the Larry King-style softball questions asked by The Times.
There was not one concrete response that would be useful in a disaster -- one that Angelenos know is a question not of if, but when. I fear what happened in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast is much more the norm than a freak occurrence. And I hope those in charge in L.A. have better answers than Renteria.
