Rebels Reportedly Free 60 Captured Soldiers
From Times Wire Reports
Communist rebels have freed 60 Nepalese soldiers who had been held captive since last month, the human rights group INSEC Nepal said.
The troops were handed over to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross at a remote mountain village inside the area controlled by the rebels, INSEC Nepal said.
The soldiers were taken hostage Aug. 7 after the guerrillas overran an army camp near Pilli, about 340 miles northwest of Katmandu, the capital.
