Judge Orders Arrest of Milosevic’s Wife

A judge in Belgrade ordered the arrest of the wife of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic for failing to attend her corruption trial in the capital.
Mirjana Markovic has been in self-imposed exile in Russia since 2003. She has been accused of illegally giving away government-owned luxury apartments.
Markovic is also wanted for questioning in connection with the 2000 slaying of former Serbian President Ivan Stambolic.
