Move Reported to Send Case to Security Council

From Times Wire Reports

The European Union’s three biggest powers have begun drafting a resolution urging the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency to report Tehran to the Security Council for possible economic sanctions, EU diplomats said.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the U.N. General Assembly on Saturday that Tehran was determined to press ahead with making nuclear fuel. French, British and German officials decided on the Security Council move, diplomats said.

The West fears that Iran’s nuclear program could be used to produce weapons.
