The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

William A. Allers III, 28, of Leitchfield, Ky.; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Allers was killed Tuesday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle near Khalis, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 198th Military Police Battalion, 75th Troop Command, Army National Guard in Louisville, Ky.

Travis M. Arndt, 23, of Bozeman, Mont.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Arndt was killed Wednesday in a vehicle accident during convoy operations in Kirkuk. He was assigned to the 163rd Cavalry Troop, 116th Brigade Combat Team, 42nd Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Missoula, Mont.

Matthew L. Deckard, 29, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; sergeant, Army. Deckard was killed Sept. 16 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Abrams tank while on patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Mark H. Dooley, 27, of Wallkill, N.Y.; first lieutenant, Army National Guard. Dooley was among three guardsmen killed Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near their patrol vehicle in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain), 42nd Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Jericho, Vt.

Michael Egan, 36, of Philadelphia; sergeant, Army National Guard. Egan was among three guardsmen killed Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near their patrol vehicle in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Philadelphia.

William L. Evans, 22, of Hallstead, Pa.; specialist, Army National Guard. Evans died Monday in Baghdad of injuries suffered earlier that day when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley fighting vehicle in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Williamsport, Pa.

William V. Fernandez, 37, of Reading, Pa.; specialist, Army National Guard. Fernandez was among three guardsmen killed Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near their patrol vehicle in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Philadelphia.

David H. Ford IV, 20, of Ironton, Ohio; specialist, Army. Ford was one of two soldiers killed Sept. 16 when an improvised explosive device detonated near their Abrams tank while on patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Alan N. Gifford, 39, of Tallahassee, Fla.; first sergeant, Army. Gifford was one of two soldiers killed Sept. 16 when an improvised explosive device detonated near their Abrams tank while on patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Scott P. McLaughlin, 29, of Hardwick, Vt.; specialist, Army National Guard. McLaughlin was killed Thursday by a sniper at an observation post in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 172nd Armor Regiment, 42nd Armor Division, Army National Guard in St. Albans, Vt.

Lawrence E. Morrison, 45, of Yakima, Wash.; sergeant first class, Army Reserve. Morrison died Monday in Baghdad of injuries suffered earlier that day when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee in Taji, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the Army Civil and Psychological Operations Command at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Regilio E. Nelom, 45, of Queens, N.Y.; staff sergeant, Army. Nelom was killed Sept. 17 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during an escort mission near Al Asad, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 249th Quartermaster Company, 1st Corps Support Command at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Pierre A. Raymond, 28, of Lawrence, Mass.; sergeant, Army Reserve. Raymond died Tuesday at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries suffered Sept. 15 when his unit came under attack from indirect fire in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 228th Forward Support Battalion, 28th Infantry Division in Harrisburg, Pa.
