PRI Candidate Ahead in Coahuila Governor Vote

Mexico’s Institutional Revolutionary Party was the apparent winner in Coahuila’s gubernatorial race, the last state election before next summer’s presidential race.
With nearly half the votes counted, PRI candidate Humberto Moreira was leading with 57%. The former schoolteacher and mayor of Saltillo, the state capital, vowed to improve infrastructure and education for the state’s 2.3 million people.
