Iran broadened its threats over a move to refer it to the U.N. Security Council, saying that unless the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog agency backs down from its resolution, Tehran will resume uranium enrichment, block inspections of its nuclear facilities and cut trade with nations that backed the measure.

But Russia’s minister of atomic energy and other experts said it would take more than a year for Iran to restart its enrichment facility at Natanz.

Iran insists that its nuclear program is for generating electricity, but Washington and others accuse it of seeking to develop atomic weapons.
