Boot’s idea for Syria bombs with readers
Re “Cracking down on terror’s cronies,” Opinion, Sept. 28
Max Boot asks: “How has Syria been held accountable? Has Damascus been bombed?” What a barbarian. I can’t believe this guy is on the Council of Foreign Relations. On second thought, considering America’s ruined image around the world, I suppose it makes perfect sense.

It is apparent from Boot’s latest jingoist opus that he equates “considerable progress” with the tonnage of bombs being dropped on an enemy. Little else would explain his ill-advised insinuation that our nation should bomb Damascus to send Syria a message. Despite his historical pretensions, Boot obviously learned few of the lessons of Vietnam.
