Microsoft Corp. said Chinese personal-computer maker Founder Technology Group agreed to buy $250 million of Windows software over the next three years as part of efforts to curb piracy.

Founder also will help Microsoft promote the use of genuine Windows software, the companies said.

The deal follows similar pacts this month with Chinese PC makers TCL Group and Tsinghua Tongfang Co. Founder said it was China’s second-largest PC maker in 2005, selling 2.5 million units.
