Off-Road Groups Sue Over New Restrictions
A coalition of off-road vehicle advocacy groups sued the county this week, alleging that its newly adopted off-road restrictions violated state law.
The controversial county ordinance, approved last month, limits riding times to between noon and 5 p.m. and restricts the number of off-road vehicles on private property to one per 10 acres, with some exceptions.
The riders’ organizations allege that the guidelines challenge state planning and zoning laws, infringe on property owners’ rights and have insufficient environmental reviews.
