Time to protest is now
Re “The Sound of Apathy Over War Resounds,” column, April 14
Once again Steve Lopez is speaking for me. It feels like there is so much broken in our country these days that everyone is just overwhelmed. Have we become a country dominated by our greed, anger and ignorance?
I prefer to think that people are waiting for the next election to show their displeasure. But we need to tell our leaders now, not later, that we hold them responsible for the corruption, lies, debt and ongoing destruction of life. It’s time to write letters, make phone calls and send e-mails. It’s time to question our intentions, and those of our leaders.

There are many of us furious with this situation, and we are busy demonstrating through the Internet -- witness all the websites. In some ways, the new protest is Internet-driven.
