Out of the shadows, here they come ...

Our teen sensations are getting too grown up. Britney Spears is pregnant with her second baby. Mischa Barton got killed off “The O.C.” and is now a fixture on the fashion-show circuit. Haley Joel Osment was just charged with misdemeanor drunk driving, and Lindsay Lohan is bringing cupcakes to her film set apparently to atone for production delays that one of her bosses attributed to partying too hard.

Who is left for our kid siblings to idolize? Luckily, the same people who brought us these celebrities are also bringing us Jamie Lynn Spears, Hania Barton, Emily Osment and Ali Lohan. These stars-in-training have been working hard at their dance classes and voice lessons and acting lessons, and they have learned from their more famous siblings’ mistakes.

Will it make them more potent stars? Well, it depends.

Here is our list of new faces with familiar last names:

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS, 15

Jamie Lynn is quietly building her tween cred under the mainstream radar, but you better believe those in the know have their eyes on her. Her first role was in older sister Britney’s film “Crossroads,” where she played the star as a youngster.

In 2002, she landed a role on Nickelodeon’s kid sketch comedy show “All That” -- a breeding ground for young stars (think Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson). This year, Jamie Lynn starred in her own show, “Zoey 101,” on the kids network.

EMILY OSMENT, 14

Emily came to the biz a little older than big brother Haley Joel, who started acting when he was 3. She didn’t begin until the much more reasonable age of 6. Emily’s career has also been far less illustrious than her older brother’s, who is best known for his starring role in “The Sixth Sense.” Until recently, Emily was best known as “Gerti Giggles” in “Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams” and “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.” But while Haley Joel has recently made headlines for allegedly driving while intoxicated, Emily has been charming future fans as a supporting character on Disney’s “Hannah Montana.”

HANIA BARTON, 18

It wasn’t too long ago that Hania, younger sister of Mischa, left her dad and her life in New York and moved to Los Angeles to hang out with her mom and her older, famous sister. Hania has dabbled in acting -- as a little girl, she was in “A Midwife’s Tale” and “Paranoid” -- but has been quoted as saying she’d like to start a rock ‘n’ roll career. These days she’s more likely to be seen tagging along with her sister at fashion shows than putting in time at the studio.

SOLANGE KNOWLES, 20

We wouldn’t wish having an older sister like Beyonce on anyone. She’s one of the world’s biggest stars, she’s gorgeous, she can sing, she can dance and -- except for a few fashion mishaps -- her career has been humiliation-free. Solange wanted fame, and her parents wanted fame for her.

“Anywhere my sister was singing, my dad would try and get me on the bill as well. I’d open up for them [Destiny’s Child] even when they were opening up for someone else,” she told reporters. Her album “Solo Star” came out in 2003 and was met with little success, even with Timbaland, the Neptunes and Beyonce producing songs. Solange had a baby boy in 2004 and hasn’t been heard from much since.

ALI LOHAN, 12

Lindsay Lohan is just the oldest in an army of Lohan siblings, all cute enough to get signed to the Ford Modeling Agency as little kids. There are four of them.

Next oldest after Lindsay is Michael Douglas Lohan II, who after spending time on movie sets with his world-famous sister decided to eschew show business and finish high school. Next up is Ali, who played young Lindsay in her sister’s emotional video “Confessions of a Broken Heart.”

In an interview with People magazine, she declared her interest in going into show business, and there have been reports of a Christmas album coming out this December.

ASHLEE SIMPSON, 22

She is this generation’s prototypical older sibling coattail rider, but it’s her father, Joe Simpson, who is the real force behind the Simpson sister phenomenon. When a reality show on MTV catapulted older daughter Jessica (now 26) to major stardom, Joe Simpson set out to use the same trick with Ashlee, helping her land “The Ashlee Simpson Show.”

What worked for the older sister worked for the younger sister, and Ashlee’s first album went triple platinum, even if nobody raved about her singing.

HAYLIE DUFF, 21

Haylie is actually Hilary Duff’s older sister. Yee-ouch! That’s gotta smart. It turns out that Hilary came to L.A. originally because of Haylie.

“It was always Haylie who wanted to do stuff before I did. She wanted to act, so I wanted to act. She wanted to be a singer, so I wanted to be a singer,” said the more famous sister.

Haylie’s done OK, though; she has a recurring role on “7th Heaven” and recently started a stint as Amber Von Tussle in the long-running Broadway musical “Hairspray.” She also had a small role in “Napoleon Dynamite” and played Cousin Amy on Hilary’s show “Lizzie McGuire.” She teams with her little sis on the big screen in “Material Girls.”
