Suspect in Juarez Killings Is Arrested
A man arrested in Virginia on immigration charges may be linked to some slayings of women in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez, investigators said.
Jose Francisco Granados de la Paz is suspected of involvement in killings in 2001, the Chihuahua state attorney general’s office said in a statement.
Already in custody in El Paso, across the border from Juarez, is Edgar Alvarez Cruz, a construction worker arrested last week in Denver. Alvarez Cruz is suspected in the killings of eight women whose remains were found in Juarez in November 2001.
