Easy access to guns

Re “The Ethan question,” editorial, Nov. 27

Thank you for bringing Ethan Esparza’s short life and violent death to your editorial column. Attention needs to be paid to the flood of guns on the market and their easy accessibility. The gun lobbies and the National Rifle Assn. have managed to lower the bar on any meaningful gun control to the ludicrous level that a victory for gun control is (hooray!) the purchase of one gun a month. This is a victory? Who needs 12 guns a year?

The Times is filled with the death and mayhem caused by guns. Our family appreciates your editorials on the tragic consequences of this situation.
