Reaching a new low by marketing karma

“Selling karma, hoping for a positive return” (Dec. 20) is a sad commentary on how far we have fallen from the true essence of selfless service through action.

As a student of yoga for more than 40 years, I have seen the increasing commercialization of yoga and spirituality eat away at the sacredness of these interconnected paths to awareness and service to humanity.

Andrew Loren Klamer reached a new low when he chose to “trademark karma philosophy about the importance of doing good things.”

If his cosmology includes an afterlife, it will be interesting to hear him justify lawsuits against individuals who tried to infringe on his trademarked version of kindness.
