* Los Angeles office landlord and developer Maguire Properties Inc. said funds from operations, a key measure of profitability for real estate investment trusts, were $25.8 million, or 58 cents a share, in the three months ended Dec. 31. That compared with $22.2 million, or 52 cents, a year earlier. The company reported a net loss of $12.1 million, or 27 cents a share, contrasted with net income of $1.6 million, or 4 cents, a year earlier. Fourth-quarter revenue rose 52% to $134.3 million.

* Sport Chalet Inc., a La Canada Flintridge-based sporting goods retailer, said fiscal third-quarter profit fell 18%, to $3 million, or 22 cents a share. Sales in the period ended Dec. 31 rose 3.7% to $99.7 million.

* Cheesecake Factory Inc., the Calabasas Hills restaurant chain, said fourth-quarter profit jumped 26%, to $23.4 million, or 29 cents a share, as sales surged 23% to $328.3 million.
